Martinsville Mayor Phil
Deckard Endorses Peggy Mayfield
Support Builds for Business Woman, Clerk to Take On Democrat Peggy
Welch
(Martinsville, IN)—Republican County Clerk Peggy Mayfield announced Friday the endorsement of Martinsville Mayor Phil Deckard for her candidacy in the District 60 State Representative Republican Primary.
Mayor Deckard joins former Morgan County Sheriff Robert Garner, Senator Brent Steele, Representative Tom Saunders, Mooresville Town Clerk Sandy Perry, former Mooresville Town Council President and current Brown Township Mark Harris in endorsing Mayfield’s candidacy.
“The most important issues facing Hoosiers right now are job creation and government reform,” said Mayor Deckard. “I can’t think of a better candidate to take on those challenges than Peggy Mayfield, who herself owns a successful family-owned business and has improved the efficiency of our Election Office and returned tax dollars to the general fund every year as County Clerk.”
“I am honored to have the support of Mayor Deckard.” Mayfield said. “If elected, I look forward to working closely with our local officials and bringing the lessons I’ve learned as a small business owner and government reformer to the General Assembly.”
